APD > News & Information
APD has successfully made substantive changes to Chapter 65G-2 of the Florida Administrative Code. This particular administrative rule delineates the requirements for APD-licensed residential facilities and underwent its last major revision in 1978. The revised rule contains a number of new and improved provisions which are intended to enhance the quality of care and services rendered to APD clients who choose to live in such settings.
The revised Chapter 65G-2 will be going into effect on July 1, 2014! There is one section, 65G-2.002, related to license application and renewal procedures, that has not been finalized but is expected to be promulgated later this summer (due to minor/technical changes needed); that particular section is therefore not included in the copy of the rule provided below. In addition to the rule itself, we have also included all related licensing and monitoring forms, checklists, and the application for licensure as well. Finally, we have prepared a document which highlights the key changes to the rule.
APD will begin utilizing the new forms and applying the revised standards of 65G-2 effective July 1, 2014.The Agency wishes to thank our residential providers and other stakeholders for their input in the development of this rule…..your assistance was greatly appreciated
