Annual Caregiver’s Luncheon Held in Pensacola

By Annette Zeeb

The third Annual Caregiver’s Luncheon was held on December 15 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola.  The individuals connected with Project Empower of Northwest Florida and PURE Friendship ministries were given the opportunity to invite their caregivers to a free luncheon in their honor.   The Marcus Pointe Cooking Ministry prepared and served the meal.  They decorated each table with Christmas China.  Destry LeBrun, founder of PURE Friendship Ministries, welcomed everyone to the luncheon.   Rachel Caylor and Vonda Rainey sang “10,000 Reasons”.

The Pyramid Show Choir sang a variety of Christmas songs as caregivers were served lunch.  The keynote speaker was Pastor Mike Collins.   He stressed that what matters is people and what we invest in people by giving of ourselves fully.   Despite the difficulties and challenges that will be faced, caregivers must stand firm.  Throughout the event, door prizes consisting of stepping stones created by the Project Empower crafts class were given out by Cam, the Elf.    The luncheon ended with a Silent Auction of items created by the ladies of the church and the PURE Empowerment Center crafts class along with items donated by individuals and businesses in the community.
