Live an Unconfined Life

By Annette Zeeb

Christopher Coleman was the keynote speaker at the “People, Purpose & Passion” ADA 25 event sponsored by the University of West Florida Office of Equity, Diversity, & International Affairs on October 29, at the Pensacola campus.  As America’s unconfined life coach, motivational speaker, author, and confidence builder, Coleman is dedicated to helping all individuals rise above obstacles.

He was pronounced dead at birth but miraculously survived.   He uses his disability of cerebral palsy as a gift to motivate and inspire others to overcome their various obstacles.   Coleman’s story can be found at http://unconfinedlife.com/about-us/meet-christopher/.

The Escambia County High School students with disabilities were all given the opportunity to hear his presentation.  He told them not to let anyone confine them to their situations and to take their challenges and make them opportunities.  Despite cerebral palsy and a slight speech impediment,  Coleman lives independently and travels from speaking engagement to speaking engagement where he motivates audiences to “free themselves” from their particular “wheelchairs,” defined as obstacles or challenges.

After the presentation, the students were treated to lunch while Katrina Washington, Northwest Region supported employment liaison, recruited students interested in pursuing employment with the assistance of an employment enhancement plan provider.
