TALLAHASSEE - The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is officially notifying 3,228 customers in the Panhandle this week that they will be moving from Medicaid waiver tiers into iBudget Florida. iBudget Florida is a new way to deliver Medicaid waiver services that has been approved by both the Florida Legislature and the federal government.
Families, with assistance from their waiver support coordinators (WSC), will manage service approvals and other aspects using an online web-based system. iBudget gives customers more flexibility in how they use their services dollars.

Customers living in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Calhoun, Jackson, Washington, Holmes, Franklin, Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Jefferson counties will be making the October transition. The schedule to move other customers into iBudget is being revised.

Initially, customers will have no adjustment to their service cost plans. After the agency completes another actuarial study in the next few months, then the formula or algorithm will be applied to everyone using iBudget Florida.

APD annually serves more than 50,000 Floridians with developmental disabilities of autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, spina bifida, and Prader-Willi syndrome.
