TALLAHASSEE, FL - Bay County Property Appraiser Dan Sowell will address Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Cabinet on Tuesday, September 29, on the importance of including people with disabilities in the workforce. Sowell, who has cerebral palsy, was elected to the post last fall after working 20 years in the Bay County Property Appraiser's Office.
Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink will introduce a Cabinet resolution declaring October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Florida. The Cabinet meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Cabinet meeting room on the lower level of the Capitol Building.
Along with Sowell, leaders from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation, Blind Services, Commission on Disabilities, and the Able Trust will be there to accept the resolution.
