Participants Needed for a Study on Social Media Safety
A researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is looking for individuals with intellectual disability, age 13-24, to complete a survey. The study is examining the way that individuals use social media to determine whether there is a need for social media safety instruction.
This is invaluable research geared toward helping keep people with intellectual disability safe as they navigate social media. Anyone who receives agency and/or special education services under the category of intellectual disability and is between the ages of 13 and 24 is eligible to complete the survey.
The survey takes 10-20 minutes and is located at the following link: https://sm19.questionpro.com. As a bonus, all participants will receive a T-shirt.
The survey was created to be accessible. Picture responses, audio read-aloud options, and video directions are used to allow independent completion. The survey contains a cover page with more information. After the legal guardian question is answered, consent forms will be presented. The survey will begin after participation agreement is given.
The survey has been approved by the Institutional Review Board of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The survey is completely anonymous and T-shirt shipping information is collected on a separate link so that survey responses are in no way connected to personal information. T-shirts will be mailed out in late January.
