Happy New Year!
By Director Barbara PalmerI hope 2020 gives us all clear insight into the coming year for success. Everyone at the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) is looking forward to the new year. We are preparing for the legislative session, which begins on January 14. We will be meeting with legislators to support the funding of Governor Ron DeSantis’s budget recommendations that will help APD and its customers next fiscal year.
APD’s top priority is the sustainability of the iBudget Florida waiver and funding to transition individuals from the waiting list to the waiver. We await input from the Legislature on any changes they may want to make to the waiver.
We expect 2020 to be another fantastic year for APD and the people we serve as we continue to work together with our customers, families, partners, Waiver Support Coordinators, providers, stakeholders, and others. I thank you for all that you do to serve Floridians with developmental disabilities.
