Planting Pinwheels

On April 10, representatives from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities joined Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez in planting pinwheels in front of the Historic Capitol in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Director’s Assistant Doria Moody, Communications Director Melanie Mowry Etters, and Legislative Analyst Nicholas Bique joined other state employees in decorating the lawn with pinwheels. Pinwheels for Prevention is the state’s campaign to prevent child abuse and neglect. The campaign symbol, a blue and silver pinwheel, represents the great childhoods we want for all children.

The APD State Office and the Northwest Region’s Tallahassee Office planted pinwheels in front of the APD building on April 15.  Zach Gibson from the Governor’s Office of Adoption came to thank the participants. Employees donated more than $100 to the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida through the pinwheel garden.
