Clarence Lewis Promoted to State Office Position

Clarence Lewis has been promoted to Bureau Chief of Provider Supports in State Office. In this new role, he will provide support to the regions and leadership, and provide oversight for the Quality Improvement and Clinical Supports workstreams.

Clarence brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, as he has worked at APD in various leadership and managerial positions. He has almost 30 years of experience working in the human services field.

“Clarence’s knowledge and commitment are second to none,” said APD Director Barbara Palmer. “We are so excited to welcome him as part of our State Office team.”

Clarence will be leaving the Central Region as the Regional Operations Manager. Most recently, he volunteered to lead the initiative to successfully transition residents from Carlton Palms in Mt. Dora to community settings. While transitioning the residents, he was also responsible for oversight of this facility, ensuring continued services were provided.

As a longtime employee of APD, he has additionally held several key positions, including the Area 13 Administrator and the Deputy Regional Operations Manager.  Prior to these positions, he worked at the Department of Children and Families with job experiences including child and adult protective services, economic self-sufficiency, mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, and other functions.
