Florida to Receive Career and Technical Scholarship Funding

The Florida Department of Education hosted a series of public hearings to collect input on the state’s plan to implement the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V).

The Perkins V grant will fund $1.3 billion annually for career and technical education programs throughout the nation. Of this, Florida school districts and state colleges will receive $73 million each year for students to choose programs of study and career pathways to earn credentials of value.

On November 4, 2019, the Florida Workforce Listening tour stopped at Leon County’s Lively Technical College. Speakers highlighted the program’s reach to all Floridians.
