March Family Care Council Florida Meeting

Representatives from the local Family Care Councils (FCCs) gathered together March 16 in Orlando for the Family Care Council Florida bi-monthly meeting. The meeting included an Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) update from Communications Director Melanie Mowry Etters. Information shared included a legislative update, as well as updates on iConnect and the Next Generation Questionnaire for Situational Information.

The meeting also featured a presentation from Paul Coley, Founder and CEO of Scent Evidence K9 (SEK9). SEK9 is an organization that assists communities and law enforcement agencies with finding missing persons with dementia and autism and bringing them home safely. In addition, SEK9 has designed a scent preservation kit to help canine teams find individuals when they get lost. The kit also includes a missing person checklist to help families remember important steps. To learn more about SEK9 and their preservation kit, visit www.scentevidencek9.com.
