DeLand’s Special Needs Family Resource Fair

Welcoming Hearts, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for all individuals with special needs by providing information and support to individuals, families, professionals, and the community, hosted a fantastic event at the Wayne G. Sanborn Center on October 13.

This year, there were several breakout sessions, along with over 35 vendors and agencies in attendance. An ABA panel discussion with a question-and-answer session was available. Special Needs Trusts & Estate Planning, School Scholarship Options, Talking Book Library Program, Music Therapy, Adaptive Ice Skating, and an IEP Toolkit were some of the terrific topics available to parents, individuals, caregivers, and professionals.

APD Northeast Region Community Relations Coordinator Belinda Hoyt set up a table to inform families how to apply for services, locate community resources, and answer questions for individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals.
