Calling Tomorrow’s Leaders!

The 11th Annual Youth Summit, hosted by the Florida Youth Council, will be held August 3-4 in Orlando. This event is for young people with disabilities ages 15-30 throughout the state of Florida to come together to learn, share, and network. It will bring together over 200 youth and emerging leaders to attend engaging youth-only sessions on a wide variety of topics, including transition, workplace preparedness, and post-secondary schooling. There will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to network, and share their thoughts, experiences, and aspirations.

The Florida Youth Council is sponsored by The Family Café, and the Annual Youth Summit is like a smaller scale version of The Family Café’s annual conference geared specifically towards youth. Because this event is so youth-centered, attendees’ parents/guardians are not allowed to attend Summit events/activities. However, there is one parent session, and they are welcome to sit in the opening keynote. Otherwise, it is for youth, planed, and put on by youth.

There is no registration fee for The Annual Youth Summit. Limited financial assistance to cover the cost of hotel accommodation is available; to request financial assistance, your registration must be completed by Sunday, July 8. Rooms are available at The Florida Hotel at the special event rate of $109 a night. To reserve a room, call 407/859-1500.
