Autism Speaks and SUNTRUST Foundation Town Hall on Special Needs Financial Planning Held in Jacksonville

Autism Speaks and The SunTrust Foundation partnered to hold a Town Hall on Special Needs Financial Planning at the Crowne Point Hotel in Jacksonville on May 19.

Karen Prewitt, current Family Care Council (FCC 04) member, presented information on ABLE accounts for ABLE United. Belinda Hoyt, NE Region Community Resource Consultant for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, discussed accessing funding for the Medicaid waiver program, as well as other waiver programs and resources available to individuals in Florida.

Rebecca Berg of Berg Bryant Elder Law Group, PLLC, presented Special Needs Trusts, and Robert Miller from Fisher, Tousey, Leas & Ball, P.A., discussed Guardianship and Conservatorships. Brian R. Parks, CEO SunTrust Bank of Jacksonville/North Florida, was the keynote speaker for the event.

Autism Speaks partners with foundations in other states in the Southeast to help educate families on the importance of Special Needs Financial Planning for their loved ones.
