Healthy Habits

Greg Broyles’ passion is physical fitness. He has won many trophies, ribbons, and medals over the years for sports, most notably weightlifting. He had two injuries from his weightlifting, so he has moved to other sports like cycling, surfing, and paddle boarding to get his exercise fix. Broyles said, “I participate in every Special Olympic sport that I can.”

That same determination for excellence in athletics flows over into Broyles’ career. Broyles has worked at the Home Depot on Airport Boulevard in Pensacola since 2004. He works on the late shift as a member of the Freight Team unloading boxes from delivery trucks and stocking shelves with the new merchandise.

Human Resources Manager Rosa Smith said, “Greg is a very hard worker. He knows his job and is a very safe worker.”

Broyles has a developmental disability and receives services from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

Broyles is very proud of what he has accomplished. He said, “I own my own home. I have a dog and a truck. I drive myself to work each day.”

“Greg is very popular and well-liked by everyone at Home Depot. Whenever he is working, associates shout out and greet him, and enjoy playful banter in the breakroom,” said Smith.

As you may have guessed, when Broyles is not working, he is busy working out to stay in shape. He also enjoys watching Family Feud on television.
