Sunland Center and Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP) Host Legislative Tour

Sunland Center and the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP) hosted a legislative delegation tour on June 26. Visitors included APD Legislative Affairs Director Caleb Hawkes, APD Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs Rebeca Grissom, APD Deputy Communications Director Zoe Linafelt, Florida Senate Committee on Children, Families, and Elder Affairs Senior Attorney Peter Delia, Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee MPA Budget Analyst Bryan E. Mielke,  Florida House of Representatives Health and Human Services Committee Attorney Analyst Oaj Gilani, and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services Budget Analyst Brook Gerbrandt.

The group toured educational, recreational, and vocational programming areas, as well as residential homes in Units 1, 2, and 3, Cox Medical, and Pathways. In the afternoon, they visited DDDP, touring various areas of the forensics program.


Staff from the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, as well as APD staff, enjoyed a tour of Sunland and DDDP.
