Two Foster Parent Recruitment Forums Held

APD’s Northwest Region office partnered with the Department of Children and Families, Big Bend Community Based Care, and the Area 2 Family Care Council in sponsoring two foster parent recruitment forums.

The March 6 forum was held at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, and the March 27 forum was held at the Bethel Life Center in Tallahassee. Northwest Region Operations Manager Lynne Daw and Northwest Region Supported Employment Liaison Willie Dawkins-Miller shared information about APD at both forums. Presentations were provided by APD, the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), Life Management Center, One Church One Child, Go Foster, Children’s Medical Services, Florida Baptist Children’s Home, Children’s Home Society, and Camelot.

Participants learned how to enroll to become a foster home and about community resources available for foster home providers. For more information on becoming a foster parent, click here.
