APD Customer Presented Plaque

Chris Blythe was one of the guest speakers at the National Disability Employment Awareness Event on October 25 at the Bayview Club on Eglin Air Force Base (AFB).  Blythe was presented with a plaque in appreciation for sharing his story and inspiring others to believe “Inclusion Drives Innovation.”

Blythe works for Global Connections to Employment (GCE) where he has been employed for six years as a custodian. GCE has a custodial contract with Eglin AFB.

Upon graduation from high school, Blythe started receiving supported employment supports from the ARC of the Emerald Coast (Horizons of Okaloosa County) through funding from Vocational Rehabilitation and now receives ongoing funding from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. He loves his job at the Eglin Field House Gym and plans on working there indefinitely.
