Disability Awards Presented

Northwest Regional Program Supervisor Octavius Jackson, Community Resources Liaison Annette Zeeb, and Supported Employment Liaison Tara Potter, along with other community partners, participated in the 13th Annual National Disability Awareness Month celebration hosted at the Pensacola Yacht Club. This event allows employers to honor and recognize their employees with disabilities and highlight their contributions to their professions. This also provides a showcase to the success and importance of supported employment for the disability community.

APD customer Houston Lee was awarded the Ambassador for Change Award at the celebration. Lee’s award was presented by Brian Johnson with the Power Employment Group. Lee’s outgoing personality, tenacity, and perseverance have helped him to shine brightly. This award reflects the change that has occurred within him as he thrives in his employment opportunity.

Victor Nall was recognized at the Pensacola celebration by receiving the October Sunshine Award from his employer, Waterford at Carpenter’s Creek. Nall has been an outstanding employee demonstrating a strong commitment and dedication to his job.
