I'm Possible

By Lorena Fulcher

“If you look at the word impossible, it actually is I’m possible.” This is part of the powerful message spoken by Natalie Jean of APD’s Programs unit while she delivered the keynote address at the Ms. Wheelchair Florida’s Fifth Annual Empowerment Gala on April 1 in Tampa. This year’s conference theme was Be the Changeā€¦Be Empowered. Jean talked about her personal experiences and reminded self-advocates that words carry great power, advising participants that effective advocacy includes having the right attitude and approach.

Ms. Wheelchair Florida is a nonprofit organization that highlights accomplishments and achievements of women with disabilities in Florida. The 2017 Ms. Wheelchair Florida Winner is Katherine Magnoli of Sunny Isles Beach. As Ms. Wheelchair Florida, Magnoli will have the opportunity through public appearances to increase awareness of the barriers experienced for people with disabilities and highlight their achievements and capabilities.
