Central Region Participates in Special Olympics Fall Classic
The APD Central Region participated in the Special Olympics Fall Classic held at Walt Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex on November 11 and 12. Approximately 1,250 athletes participated in the various games, with 36 Florida counties being represented. Some of the sports highlighted at the Fall Classic this year included softball, flag football, powerlifting, cheerleading, and gymnastics.
APD was invited to host an informational display table as well as assist with the Healthy Athletes initiative. Several staff volunteered to help and had a wonderful time meeting with the athletes and their families.
