Annual Caregiver/Provider Luncheon Held in Pensacola

Project Empower of Northwest Florida, PURE Friendship Ministries, the P.U.R.E. Empowerment Center, and the Empowerment Parent Resource Center partnered to provide a free luncheon honoring 100 caregivers in the community on Tuesday, December 13 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola.

Mrs. Mildred Bush and her team, a wonderful hostess ministry from Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, prepared and served an outstanding meal, which was served on their best Christmas china on each of the round skirted tables. Scrumptious cakes filled a long table and were enjoyed by all. The Pyramid Show Choir serenaded the caregivers with a variety of Christmas favorites. Pastor Craig Hindsman was the keynote speaker. He shared stories of his family’s work with his daughter, who has a learning disability. Pastor Hindsman teaches others how to care for his daughter, who is different in her own incredible ways.

“Caregivers are opportunity givers. They can see beyond the surface and the struggle. Everybody was created for a purpose,” Pastor Hindsman explains.

The Empowerment Parent Resource Center at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, Building A, Door 3, opens on January 9, 2017, to connect individuals with resources in the community and provide support as needed. The Friday social time and exercise time will resume every Friday on January 13, 2017.
