My Pleasure

By Melanie Etters

When dining at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Bradfordville Road in Tallahassee, you may request assistance from employee Adam Longfellow. After receiving your request, you will likely say thank you and hear the refreshing response, “My pleasure.” That is just one of the many things Longfellow has learned since joining the Chick-fil-A team two years ago. His job duties include assisting guests and ensuring the dining area is neat and clean.

Longfellow said, “I want to work. I provide excellent customer service. A job gives me responsibility and a chance to interact with customers.”

Longfellow receives services from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

Senior Director Brian Carroll said, “Adam is ready to help; he listens well and is a joy to work with. Adam has a great sense of humor. He wants to and is ready to learn and can take correction when needed.”

After talking with Longfellow about what his employment goals were, job coach Willie Miller helped him apply for his position with Chick-fil-A. Miller said, “Chick-fil-A is a superb team that has worked cooperatively to ensure Adam has success while also ensuring that he continues to contribute to the bottom line.”

Longfellow enjoys his job and hopes to continue working at Chick-fil-A for a very long time. He said, “This family is like my family at home. It consists of faith, family, and good food.”
