Senior Day

On March 29, Florida seniors, sponsors, non-profit organizations, and state agencies came together at the Capitol for Florida Senior Day. Florida Senior Day is a collaborative event designed to bring together hundreds of corporate, philanthropic, and non-profit organizations with "One Voice" to support the full spectrum of services and needs of Florida seniors and their families.

APD Communications Director Melanie Mowry Etters, Deputy Communications Director Katie Strickland, and Graphic Designer Kimberly Tharpe hosted a table with an informational display and literature for Florida Senior Day at the Capitol. Throughout the day, dance troops, musical acts, and other performers provided entertainment in the courtyard for attendees.

At Tallahassee’s City Hall, there was a Town Hall meeting, which included a panel of top policy makers, advocates, and business leaders featuring discussions on senior issues. The Town Hall meeting was broadcast live on The Florida Channel. Communications Director Melanie Mowry Etters attended the meeting on behalf of APD.
