Tacachale Aktion Club Makes a Difference

Tacachale’s Aktion Club presented several hand-painted picture frames to Alachua Habitat for Humanity’s Resource Development Director Jocelyn Peskin on August 25. Peskin will offer these hand-painted frames as housewarming gifts for new homeowners within her program. Tacachale’s Aktion Club is a service club sponsored and funded by the University City Kiwanis Club in Gainesville. This provides interested residents of Tacachale with a way of giving back to their community. The club completes several projects each year.

This is the club’s second project to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Previously, the club created art work for new homeowners. Other recent projects include making festive wreaths for the Hope Lodge in Gainesville, presenting patriotic gifts to veterans on Veterans Day and giving Easter baskets to children living in a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
