Sunland Receives Donation for Equestrian Program

The Braxton Family of Vernon, Florida, recently demonstrated their support for the Equestrian Program at Sunland Center in Marianna by making a $500 contribution to the program.  The Sunland Equestrian Program provides opportunities for the individuals that live at Sunland to participate in various therapeutic equine activities and events with the horses at Sunland.  These therapeutic activities and events range from simple interaction with the horses to various riding programs, to include grooming and care taking of the horses.  Activities and events are conducted on campus at Sunland, as well as in conjunction with the Special Olympics Florida Equestrian Championships, held annually in Ocala.

Sunland appreciates the Braxton family and their support of the Equestrian Program.  To learn more about Sunland’s partnering and volunteer opportunities, please contact Volunteer Services Coordinator Maria Johnson at 850-482-1331.
