The Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization held its 22nd Annual Buddy Walk on October 16 at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County. This one-mile walk celebrated individuals with Down syndrome while promoting acceptance and inclusion. This is the second year that FCC-09 had a table at the event. The 9th Annual Buddy Walk of the Treasure Coast Down Syndrome Awareness Group was rescheduled from October 8 to October 22 due to Hurricane Matthew. Many people were still able to participate in the one-mile advocacy walk. FCC-15 was present for the event. The 2016 Expo was held on October 22 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Broward County. This disability resource fair had performances, music by artists with disabilities, wheelchair basketball tournaments, and ESE parent workshops as part of its continued outreach to the community.
