Background Screening to Cost Less

Governor Scott recently signed into law a measure to reduce the cost for background screening of employees which covers APD employees and providers. The effective date is July 1, 2016.

SB 628 amends s. 943.053 to include the Agency for Persons with Disabilities among the list of other state agencies which offer vendors reduced cost for background screenings. The bill provides cost savings for the private and not for profit vendors, health providers, CDC+ participants and representatives of the agency. The agency’s vendors will return to the $8 fee for screenings, instead of $24.
