On the Run

For the past three years, Jennifer Dychko has been responsible for ensuring the silverware at the Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Winter Springs, near Orlando, is clean, rolled, and ready for diners. She comes in earlier in the day before the hustle and bustle of dinner service begins to complete her work. “Jennifer takes pride in doing her job, and doing it well. Carrabba’s likes contributing to the community and helping those who want jobs,” said Manager Paul Ancona.

Dychko was born with a developmental disability and receives services from Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

Dychko has many interests outside of work and says that having a job helps her earn money to be able to do those things. “I like my job and want to continue working at Carrabba’s,” said Dychko. When she is not at work she enjoys going on cruises, taking Zumba classes, going to church, going to Disney World, and doing crafts.

Her number one goal is to get stronger in physical therapy. One step in accomplishing her goal was participating in the 5k Princess Run at Disney World in February. “I had many friends joining me for the Princess Run—my waiver support coordinator, my best friend, my sister, my mom, and my behaviorist. I was very excited!” said Dychko.
