Gallery of Dreams
By Kirk RyonThe APD Southern Region pulled out all the stops for the 7th Annual Gallery of Dreams on July 10. The gallery opening was dedicated to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Contributing artists were asked to create art work that exemplified how the Americans with Disabilities Act helped them to live everyday lives by removing barriers for persons with disabilities. With sponsorship by the Family Care Council of Florida and Baptist Health of South Miami, the Southern Region hosted a gallery opening featuring a live performance of the Star Spangled Banner and presentations on the success of the ADA were given by Andrew Vargas, Esq. and Miami Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava. Commissioner Cava presented APD with a Proclamation by the City of Miami. The event received very positive praise by both the artists and guests.
