Rish Recreational Park - - - Billy Joe Rish Recreational Park A fabulous getaway that is completely accessible for people with disabilities. Acres of beautiful, sugar-white sand, sea-oat-covered dunes, refreshing sea air, and shimmering turquoise water make up Billy Joe Rish Recreational Park. Owned and operated by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), Rish Park is located on Cape San Blas, near Port St. Joe in the Florida Panhandle. The park has miles of boardwalks that connect group cabins and family cabins to the beautiful sandy beach and crystal clear water. Amenities include a multipurpose event hall with a commercial kitchen, overhead projector and screen, and cable television. The Olympic-size swimming pool is equipped with a handicap accessible ramp and poolside cabana. Picnic areas and grills offer campers an unforgettable outdoor dining experience. Rish Park is cradled between the waters of St. Joseph Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, making it the ideal place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Florida Emerald Coast. Easy access to the bay offers visitors exciting opportunities to enjoy fishing, snorkeling, picnicking, boating, kayaking, communion with nature, and birdwatching. - - - RESERVATIONS The park offers six group cabins and two family cabins. The family cabins have a maximum capacity of seven guests. Linens, blankets, and towels are not provided. Cellphone reception is limited. Only people with disabilities may rent cabins or use the park facilities. Family members or guardians accompanying people with disabilities are welcome, as are state or private caregivers who transport and assist them. The park is open 12 months a year. Summer months are peak times, and advanced registration is recommended. Reservations may be made up to 11 months in advance.
